About this position
KAIST and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign are advertising multiple postdoctoral researcher positions in Resilient Human-Machine-AI Autonomy through September 2027. The appointment is jointly hosted across the two institutions and is based primarily in Korea, with the selected researcher working under Prof. SooJean Han at KAIST and Prof. Hiroyasu Tsukamoto at UIUC.
The project sits at the intersection of autonomy, control, and intelligent systems, with emphasis on Human-Machine-AI Autonomy and experience in LLMs/VLAMs, as well as Nonlinear and Stochastic Control Theory. It is framed as a cross-institution collaboration between KAIST’s School of Electrical Engineering and UIUC’s Department of Aerospace Engineering, and invites candidates from related fields as well.
The opening is for a full-time research role within a joint KAIST-UIUC environment, linking electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, and AI-enabled autonomy research. The position is designed for researchers who want to contribute to resilient autonomous systems in a collaborative international setting.
