I am seeking applicants for a fully funded PhD studentship at the University of Cambridge, sponsored by Ciena, to conduct research into fibre optic communications and sensing of the optical transmission network. This exciting opportunity will commence in January 2026.
Applicants should have a good degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics and exhibit a strong interest in optical fibre communication systems and related technologies.

Funding details
