About this position
Goradia Lab is launching at the International Institute of Molecular Mechanisms and Machines (IMol), Warsaw, and is recruiting founding members for two openings: a PhD student and a postdoctoral researcher.
The lab’s research programme focuses on SLiM multivalency, higher-order protein assembly, transcriptional regulation, chromatin states, and cancer biology. The group will study how repeated short linear motifs encode assembly behaviour, reorganise transcriptional regulators, and influence cell fate. The post highlights a recent Nature Communications finding on tandem ALDLS motifs in RAI2 engaging CtBP and driving polymerisation, nuclear foci formation, and relief of transcriptional repression.
PhD project: investigates how multivalent SLiM-mediated interactions control CtBP assemblies and nuclear foci, with training in molecular and cell biology, quantitative imaging, protein biochemistry, and proteomic/functional-genomic approaches.
Postdoctoral project: examines how SLiM multivalency-driven CtBP assembly alters transcriptional and chromatin states using RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-based methods, multi-omics integration, and targeted functional validation in cancer cell models.
The post invites curious, collaborative, and motivated scientists to help shape a new interdisciplinary programme. Expressions of interest and informal enquiries are welcome, and the official IMol recruitment calls with deadlines will be published soon through the institute’s recruitment process.
