About this position
The Thermal Two-Phase Flow Laboratory at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is recruiting a PhD candidate for a three-year project on interface-resolved computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for boiling and condensation on engineered surfaces.
The project is part of the Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network SurPhase EU Project. The research will develop advanced numerical models for interfacial transport and phase-change phenomena, combining interface-resolved CFD modelling with experimental validation.
The candidate will investigate interactions between surface properties, fluid flow, and phase change, with the goal of improving thermal management systems. Relevant research interests include computational fluid dynamics, microscale fluid mechanics, numerical methods, two-phase flow heat transfer, boiling, condensation, engineered surfaces, and interfacial transport.
The position is located at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway. The application deadline is 27 November 2026. Applicants should consult the full position description and apply through the linked application portal.
