PhD in Clinical Genetics and Treatment Resistance in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Karolinska Institutet in Sweden

PhD opportunity at Karolinska Institutet in Clinical Genetics with a focus on treatment resistance in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).

The project is hosted in Richard Rosenquist Brandell’s research group at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery (MMK), Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. The research combines multi-omics, mechanistic studies in cells, CRISPR screens, and spatial proteomics to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying resistance to contemporary therapies in CLL.

This is a doctoral student position (PhD opening), and the position is partially funded through strategic doctoral education funds (KID funding). The doctoral student will be employed on a doctoral studentship with a contractual salary for up to 4 years full-time.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should have a master’s degree in biomedicine, molecular biology, biotechnology, or a closely related field; documented hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques (qPCR, cloning, flow cytometry); and excellent English communication skills. Desirable experience includes cancer genomics, large-scale sequencing, R and/or Python for omics analysis, and CRISPR-based genome editing/screening.
