About this position
PhD opportunity at Mississippi State University in the Weed Science Research Group for a project on the environmental fate of herbicides in agricultural systems.
The research will examine how herbicides persist, move, and transform under field and controlled conditions, with emphasis on herbicide sorption/desorption in soils, degradation kinetics (biotic and abiotic), and transport processes such as leaching, volatility, and runoff. The position includes both laboratory and field-scale experimentation and is well suited to students interested in agriculture, environmental science, chemistry, soil science, and related quantitative research.

Preferred experience includes HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC, herbicide residue analysis, soil–chemical interactions, experimental design, data analysis using R or SAS, environmental risk assessment, scientific writing, and the ability to work independently on long-term experiments.
