Texas State University’s UWBG Semiconductor Lab is recruiting several PhD students for Fall 2026 / Spring 2027 in Electrical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering.

The group, led by Dr. Ariful Haque (Assistant Professor, Texas State University), focuses on ultrawide bandgap semiconductors and next-generation electronics. Research topics include the fabrication, characterization, and device aspects of diamond, Ga2O3, AlGaN, and related heterostructures, with work spanning semiconductor processing, cleanroom fabrication, thin films, and device engineering.

The positions are tied to recently awarded projects funded by the National Science Foundation and the Department of Defense.
