About this position
Expression of interest for a PhD position in the Laboratory of Biophysical Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, University of Crete, within the newly funded ANA-KIN Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN).
The project focuses on understanding and targeting kinase interfaces for next-generation therapeutics using state-of-the-art biophysical approaches. The research sits at the intersection of biophysical chemistry, chemical biology, biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, and medicinal chemistry, with strong relevance to drug discovery, kinase biology, protein function, and allosteric regulation.
The successful candidate will join an international network of academic and industrial partners across Europe and benefit from fully funded MSCA doctoral training, international secondments, interdisciplinary research, access to cutting-edge technologies, and scientific plus transferable-skills training. Expected start is December 2026.
Eligibility highlights include a Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, strong knowledge of molecular and cellular biology principles, interest in quantitative and data-driven research, and good English communication skills. Previous research experience is an advantage. MSCA mobility rules apply: applicants of any nationality may apply, but they must not have lived or carried out their main activity in Greece for more than 12 months during the 36 months before recruitment.
At this stage, interested candidates are invited to email a short CV, a brief motivation statement, and contact details of two referees to [email protected]. Formal application procedures and recruitment timelines will be announced later.
