About this position

The Institute for X-ray Physics at the University of Göttingen is offering a PhD position in biophysics, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1286 “Quantitative Synaptology” until June 30, 2029. This interdisciplinary project, in collaboration with the University Medical Center Göttingen, focuses on investigating the forces generated by neuronal model cells during synaptic activity. The research involves biophysical experiments with cells using advanced optical microscopy and traction force microscopy, complemented by data analysis, theoretical model development, and preparation of results for presentations and publications.

The position offers a competitive salary based on TV-L E13 (75%, currently 29.85 hours/week).
