About this position
PhD position available in the research group of Prof. Dr. Francesca Calegari at DESY and Universität Hamburg within the newly EU-funded Horizon Europe Doctoral Network TRILOGY.
The project focuses on chirality, chiroptical switching, chiral electronic currents, enantioselective reactivity, and spin selectivity at ultrafast timescales. It builds on recent work on ultrafast chiroptical switching and aims to expand control of chiral properties of matter.
This is a fully funded PhD opportunity with an MSCA-standard salary. The selected doctoral researcher will also benefit from two fully funded 3-month research stays at partner institutions in the TRILOGY network.
Eligible applicants should have an M.Sc. in physics, chemistry, engineering, or a related discipline, plus experience in ultrafast laser science and experimental laboratory work. Strong English is required.
Start date: 01.10.2026. Application deadline: 31.08.2026.
Apply using the provided link and contact Prof. Dr. Francesca Calegari at [email protected] for further information.
