The Bio173 Biotecnología de Microalgas Marinas group at Universidad de Almería is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join their research team under the BIOVAL project. This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in microalgae biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, and sustainable blue food and feed production. The research focuses on the sustainable exploitation of cultivated microalgae, utilizing agro-industrial wastes for biomass production, and applying green extraction technologies to obtain high-value compounds for human health and aquaculture feed. The project adopts a zero-waste biorefinery approach, aligning with circular economy principles.

The successful candidate will apply for the prestigious FPU 2025 Grants (Formación de Profesorado Universitario) and enroll in the PhD Program in Biotechnology and Industrial Bioprocesses at Universidad de Almería.
