PhD opportunity in Strategy and Economics of Digitization at the University of Lausanne (HEC Lausanne), Switzerland.

The position is hosted by Prof. Christian Peukert and is part of an SNSF-funded project on how digitization has transformed the consumption of media and cultural goods. The project focuses on music, video games, books, movies, and comics, using large-scale individual-level datasets, econometrics, and machine learning. The successful candidate will join the Digital Markets Lab and collaborate with a research team at the University of Warsaw.

Eligibility highlights: applicants should have a Master's degree in Economics, Marketing, Information Systems, Management, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. A strong quantitative background is expected, especially in statistics, econometrics, machine learning, or related methods. Interest in platforms, consumer behavior, digital media markets, and the economics of cultural goods is important. Very good English and strong academic ambition are required.

Funding and contract: the PhD is funded by an SNSF project and paid according to the UNIL salary scale for graduate assistants. The contract starts as a 1-year appointment and can be renewed up to 5 years. The role can be full-time or part-time by agreement.
