The initial appointment is for 2 years, with the possibility of extension, and is salaried according to the German State Regulated Public Salary Scale (TV-L E13 2/3). The positions may be funded through national or international projects, including EU Horizon projects. Candidates will receive high-quality supervision from senior academic staff and may participate in teaching, funding acquisition, and global outreach. International networking and collaborations are encouraged, especially with regions such as South America, Asia, or Africa.
Applicants must hold an excellent or very good university degree in economics, environmental economics, agricultural sciences with a focus in economics, or related disciplines. Strong analytical and methodological skills in quantitative data analysis (econometrics, statistics, machine learning) are required. Candidates should be highly motivated, able to work independently, and possess strong team orientation. Excellent spoken and written English is required, and candidates should be willing to acquire a working knowledge of German.
