PhD Positions in Trustworthy Science Communication and Trust in Science University of Vienna in Austria

University of Vienna is advertising 5 PhD positions (4 years, 75% FTE) in a new interdisciplinary research platform focused on trust in science and science communication.

The project brings together researchers from Communication Studies, Computer Science, Psychology, Law, and Science and Technology Studies to examine how public trust in science is shaped by communication practices, perceptions of trustworthiness, and broader social and political contexts.

PhD projects are available across participating departments, including the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Psychology, Department of Communication, and Department of Science and Technology Studies. Candidates will work with an interdisciplinary supervision team and may join one of the doctoral schools at the University of Vienna.

Applicants should have a background in communication science, psychology, law, computer science, science and technology studies, or a related field. Interest in or experience with public science communication, interdisciplinary research ability, and the skills needed to complete a PhD are expected.
