About this position
Lauren Howe at the University of Zurich is hiring a PhD researcher in leadership and organizational behavior (OB) for an SNSF-funded project on leader authenticity and the disclosure of personal flaws at work.
The project asks when openness by leaders strengthens connection and trust, and when it may instead trigger bias or backlash. The successful candidate will join the UZH Center for Leadership in the Future of Work, led by Prof. Dr. Jochen Menges, and work in a collaborative, international research environment in Zurich.
This is a four-year funded PhD/research associate position with mentoring and support for conferences, workshops, and career development. The role also includes opportunities for ambitious organizational behavior and HRM research, teaching, science communication, and engagement with organizations.
Applicants should have a strong Master’s degree in business, psychology, or a related field, along with excellent quantitative research skills and a strong interest in leadership research. The post is in an English-speaking environment, and German is not required.
Priority review is 7 September 2026, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
