About this position
Erasmus University Rotterdam is offering a fully funded and salaried PhD position in Organisational Behaviour (OB) and Human Resource Management (HRM) through the Rotterdam School of Management and its People and Organisations department.
This is an open PhD position: the successful candidate will develop an original research agenda in consultation with available faculty supervisors. Potential topics include team structures, teamwork and performance, team dynamics, conflict, creativity, social networks, strategic people management, HR systems, leadership, management and hierarchy, organisational change, diversity, equity and inclusion, and behavioural research. Quantitative methods such as surveys, experiments, and panel data are especially relevant, while qualitative and mixed-method projects may also be pursued.
Applicants should hold or be close to completing a Master's degree with a research thesis in management, organisational psychology, social sciences, or a related field. Experience in behavioural research, strong methodological skills, scientific integrity, excellent English communication, and a collaborative, learning-oriented attitude are expected. A preference is given to candidates interested in OB/HRM and the listed research areas.
The position is funded for four years, with a possible fifth-year extension subject to progress and available funding. The appointment is full-time, salaried at €3,204–€4,051, and includes employee benefits under the Dutch university collective agreement. Up to 20% of the time may involve teaching in undergraduate and Master's programmes.
The application deadline is 15 January 2027. Applicants should consult the ERIM full-time PhD programme requirements and submit the required documents through the university applicant portal.
