The PhD student will be enrolled at Le Mans Université and based full-time at ILL in Grenoble, with secondments to Institut des Molécules et Matériaux du Mans (Le Mans Université), Institut Parisien de Chimie Moléculaire (Sorbonne Université), and Forschungszentrum Jülich (Germany). Additional visits to Le Mans Université may occur as needed. The position is part of the NEXTSTEP training network, which aims to equip researchers with skills to address challenges in health, industry, climate, and sustainability using analytical research infrastructures.
Applicants must hold a relevant master's degree in chemistry, materials science, polymer science, supramolecular chemistry, or nanotechnology, granted by a European university or recognized as equivalent. Experimental skills, rigor, communication abilities, and curiosity are essential. A background in polymer chemistry and/or physical chemistry is required, while knowledge of scattering techniques and polymer self-assembly is advantageous. Proficiency in English at B2 level must be demonstrated, with exceptions for native speakers or those holding degrees conducted in English. Compliance with the Marie Sklodowska-Curie mobility rule is mandatory, and candidates must not already possess a doctoral degree.
