About this position
Saint Louis University is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for research on hemostasis and thrombosis. The project centers on blood clotting proteins and their role in clot formation and related disorders, with a strong biomedical and mechanistic focus.
The fellow will join a collaborative lab environment and work on studies spanning molecular, cellular, biochemical, and in vivo approaches. The research includes mammalian cell culture, transfections, recombinant protein characterization, and enzyme kinetics, as well as isolation and culture of blood cells and endothelial cells. The project also involves analysis using Western blotting, qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and coagulation assays.
In addition, the role includes animal-based experimentation in mice, such as tail-vein injections, blood collection, and surgical procedures. The postdoctoral researcher will independently design and execute experiments connected to hemostasis, thrombosis, inflammation, and cardiovascular disease, while also contributing to publications, conference presentations, grant proposals, and student mentorship. The position is based at Saint Louis University, a Catholic university with a research-oriented environment and interdisciplinary collaborations within the department and with external partners.
