About this position

Postdoctoral position in assistive robotics and motor neuroprostheses for mobility at the Rainbow team, IRISA/Inria Rennes, in collaboration with LETI/CLINATEC (Grenoble).

The project focuses on shared control for power wheelchair driving and reach-to-grasp assistance, combining semi-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) concepts with robotic assistance to improve safe, robust, and precise mobility support for people with disabilities.

The postdoc will work on designing a shared control framework based on sensor-based servoing strategies, validating shared control for wheelchair navigation, developing a framework for reach-to-grasp tasks using innovative sensors, and performing user studies.

Required background includes robotics, computer vision, C/C++, and ROS. Experience with system integration, electronics, and mechatronics is a plus. The applicant should be comfortable with independent research, experimental work, and clinical studies involving people with disabilities.

This is a 1-year full-time postdoc with salary according to French postdoctoral regulations and previous experience. The role involves regular travel between Rennes and Grenoble; travel expenses are covered within the applicable scale.

How to apply: submit the requested materials via the form referenced on the page, or email a cover letter, CV, and references to Marie Babel and Guillaume Charvet. The position remains open until a suitable candidate is found.
