About this position

TU Delft is advertising a Postdoc in Cross-disciplinary Research within its Bio-microfluidics team at the Faculty of Applied Sciences. The project focuses on microfluidics, organ-on-a-chip, and lymphatic-on-a-chip technologies for studying and improving the subcutaneous bioavailability of therapeutics.

The research aims to develop a predictive 3D microfluidic platform that mimics human lymphatic transport and integrates a vascularized barrier to improve physiological relevance. The system will be used for mechanistic analysis of therapeutic absorption, distribution, and blood–lymphatic interactions, with applications in cancer research, drug screening, small molecules, viral vectors, and CAR T therapies. The model will be validated using diverse biomolecules and optimized for formulation, dosage, and microenvironmental factors.

This position is especially relevant for candidates interested in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, physics, biology, materials science, and related interdisciplinary areas. Experience with microfluidics, fluorescence imaging, confocal imaging, micro-scale flow, or mammalian cell culture is highly desirable.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field and demonstrate strong experimental and analytical skills, creativity, proactivity, teamwork, and excellent English communication and writing skills. The appointment is temporary for 2 years, with a workload of 38–40 hours per week. Salary and benefits follow the Dutch university collective agreement, with a monthly salary range of €3706–€5760.

The post is based at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. Applications must be submitted online by 22 September 2026. Candidates should upload a motivation letter and CV; shortlisted applicants will later be asked for the contact details of two referees.
