About this position
This postdoctoral position at KTH Royal Institute of Technology focuses on the cyber-physical security of smart grids and wide-area monitoring systems. The project studies how increasing digitalisation in power systems creates new vulnerabilities in monitoring data and communications, especially when systems depend on synchronised measurements for reliable operation.
The research will examine threats such as time-synchronisation attacks and manipulation of monitoring data, with attention to how these attacks affect system operation. The postdoc will develop methods for timely detection and resilience, using machine learning algorithms, and validate the approaches in cyber-physical power-system scenarios together with an international team.
The role is framed within KTH’s research and innovation environment, where the university emphasises technical excellence, sustainability, and a collaborative academic setting. The position is a time-limited qualified appointment focused mainly on research and is intended as a first career step after the doctorate.
