About this position

Postdoc in multi-omics machine learning and computational cancer biology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden.

This postdoctoral position is based at SciLifeLab Stockholm and KTH and sits within the SciLifeLab and Wallenberg National Program for Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS). The lab works on cancer precision medicine with a focus on the molecular mechanisms behind cancer aggressiveness, metastasis, and treatment resistance.

The research is highly interdisciplinary and combines machine learning, deep learning, multi-omics, medical imaging, computational pathology, and foundation models. The successful candidate will help integrate biological, clinical/pathological, and imaging data to develop interpretable and biologically meaningful models for cancer research.

The position is suited to applicants with a strong computational background and a clear interest in biomedical applications, especially cancer biology. Applicants should have a doctoral degree in computer science, machine learning, computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related area by the appointment decision date. Required skills include Python and/or R, statistics, model evaluation and validation, Unix/Linux, high-performance computing, and experience with large-scale, high-dimensional biomedical datasets.

Preferred experience includes multi-omics data analysis and integration, multimodal machine learning, cancer genomics, precision medicine, explainable ML, teaching or mentoring, and independent research development. The lab also offers opportunities to contribute to grant applications, research networks, education, and mentorship.

The appointment is for up to two years. Applications must be submitted through KTH’s recruitment system, and the deadline is 15 November 2026. The application should include a CV, diplomas and grade transcripts, and a brief motivation letter describing why you want to work in A Lundberg Lab and how your interests connect with your past work and future goals.

Contact: Arian Lundberg ([email protected]).
