About this position
Postdoc in Theoretical Catalysis at the University of Copenhagen, Department of Chemistry, within the ERC Synergy Grant DEMI (Directed Evolution of Metastable Electrocatalyst Interfaces for Energy Conversion).
The position is in the Theoretical Catalysis group and focuses on understanding catalytic processes and catalytic materials through atomic-scale simulations. Research interests include electrocatalytic reactions, high entropy materials, DFT simulations, machine learning potentials, Monte Carlo simulations, and statistical analysis. The group works closely with experimental collaborators at UCPH and with partners at the University of Bern, Ruhr University Bochum, and Helmholtz-Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg.
This is a 2-year postdoc position starting 1 February 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate must hold a PhD in computational chemistry, DFT simulations, physical modelling, or a related area. Experience in theoretical catalysis or electrocatalysis is an advantage.
Applications must be submitted electronically in English through the university job portal. Required documents include a motivation letter, CV, diplomas (Master and PhD or equivalent), and a complete publication list. The deadline is 15 November 2026, 23:59 CET.
