About this position
DTU Physics at the Technical University of Denmark is recruiting four postdocs in experimental quantum optical information within the Quantum Physics and Information Technology (QPIT) section in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark.
The positions span several experimental tracks: quantum opto-acoustics, continuous-variable (CV) quantum communication, CV quantum computing, and diamond quantum microscopy. The work involves creating and controlling new quantum states of light and matter, building low-noise optical and electronic systems, developing control and analysis software, and collaborating in an international team with advanced optical, cryogenic, and electronic laboratories.
Applicants should have a strong experimental background in quantum optics, atomic, molecular and optical physics, optomechanics, photonics, or a related field. Experience with squeezed or entangled light, homodyne detection, phase locking, cavity optomechanics, cryogenic measurements, fiber or integrated optics, low-noise electronics, or real-time control is especially relevant. A PhD degree or equivalent is required, and candidates should indicate which track(s) best match their background.
The appointment is full-time for 2 years. Salary and terms follow the Danish collective agreement, with possible supplements according to DTU’s salary structure. The post is not described as a scholarship; it is a paid postdoctoral employment opportunity.
Deadline: 30 October 2026 at 23:59 Danish time. Apply online via the DTU portal and submit one PDF containing a cover letter, CV, academic diplomas (MSc/PhD in English), and publication list. In the cover letter, state your preferred project track(s) and briefly explain your experimental fit.
For further information, contact Professor Ulrik Lund Andersen at [email protected].
