About this position
New York University’s Center for Cosmology and Particle Physics is advertising a three-year Carl Feinberg Institute for Theoretical Physics postdoctoral fellowship beginning September 1, 2027. The position is housed within the newly established institute and is designed for an independent early-career researcher to develop and lead a vigorous research program.
The fellowship sits at the intersection of particle theory, condensed matter theory, quantum information, and quantum gravity, with an emphasis on leveraging computational and AI methods where appropriate. Fellows are expected to engage broadly across these research areas and to take part in the institute’s seminars, workshops, and visitor program.
The appointment provides access to the full resources of the NYU Department of Physics and the wider New York theoretical physics community. The role is based in New York, and the selected candidate will work onsite from the start date. On-campus subsidized housing may be available subject to availability.
