About this position
Virginia Tech’s Department of Biological Systems Engineering is recruiting a Postdoctoral Associate for a project on engineering cellular responses to biomaterial and gene delivery systems. The research is centered on designing nanoformulations or devices that can improve the efficacy and safety of biologically active drugs and gene therapies.
The postdoctoral researcher will work directly with Dr. Wujin Sun and a team of researchers at Virginia Tech. The role combines cell engineering with immunological and cellular characterization, and the appointee will lead primary cell culture, experimental cell manipulation, and analysis of cellular and immune responses.
This position sits within a research-intensive environment at Virginia Tech, a major land-grant institution with broad biomedical and engineering expertise. The project connects biological systems engineering with translational therapeutic delivery, offering hands-on work at the interface of cell biology, immunology, and bioengineering.
