About this position
Northeastern University’s Bajpayee Lab is seeking a postdoctoral associate for NIH-funded and industry-collaborative research on cartilage-targeted gene delivery. The project focuses on engineering charge-guided delivery systems that can penetrate dense, negatively charged tissues.
The researcher will design gene delivery systems through chemical conjugation and molecular engineering, and will quantitatively analyze transport, partitioning, and binding kinetics in biological matrices. The work also includes conducting and contributing to in vivo studies in musculoskeletal models.
The postdoctoral associate will lead multiple projects across federal and industry-funded programs, independently develop and publish high-impact manuscripts, train and mentor students, and help manage project budgets and presentations. The research environment combines gene therapy, biomaterials, drug delivery, quantitative modeling, and translational research within Northeastern’s research enterprise.
Relevant research directions include delivery of mRNA, DNA, and CRISPR systems; cartilage and extracellular-matrix transport; and polyelectrolyte-based delivery technologies.
