About this position
University of Florida is recruiting 1-2 fully funded Postdoctoral Associate positions in multi-omics, precision medicine, biostatistics, statistics, computer science, bioinformatics, machine learning, and deep learning within the Department of Epidemiology and the GeneBio center.
The position is in Dr. Jinling Liu’s lab, which works on big data analytics, systems biology, probabilistic graphical models, causal inference, and machine learning for biomedical research. The lab has access to rich high-dimensional datasets including WGS, WES, DNA methylation, RNA-seq, proteomics, lipidomics, and metabolomics, with applications to aging, cardiovascular disease, brain disease, cancer, and other complex diseases.
Responsibilities include multi-omics data analysis, novel method development and application, manuscript writing, conference presentations, grant support, and student mentoring. The postdoc will collaborate with experts across disciplines and gain exposure to advanced statistical and computational approaches in precision medicine.
Minimum requirements: a PhD in computer science, statistics, biostatistics, biomedical informatics, biology, or a related field. Strong programming skills in Python, R, or C++ are essential, along with research experience in programming, statistics, and AI. Prior biomedical data analysis experience is preferred.
Funding: salary is $63,480/year (commensurate with experience and NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines), with comprehensive health and leave benefits and possible professional development funds for travel or educational materials.
