About this position
The Department of Biological Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech is recruiting a postdoctoral associate for a translational project on preclinical evaluation of engineered drug and gene delivery systems. The work centers on designing nanoformulations or devices that can improve the efficacy and safety of biologically active drugs and gene therapies.
The successful postdoc will join Dr. Wujin Sun and a team of researchers at Virginia Tech. The role is strongly experimental and hands-on, with responsibility for leading in vivo efficacy and safety studies, bioimaging, and histological analysis. The position sits within an engineering-led biomedical research environment that connects drug delivery, biological systems engineering, and preclinical testing.
This opening is aimed at a researcher who can contribute to advanced delivery-system development and evaluate how these engineered platforms perform in biological settings. The project language indicates a focus on the interface between engineering design and biomedical validation, including animal-based testing and analysis of tissue responses. The work is based at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg and is embedded in a department that supports applied research in biological systems engineering.
