Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate within the Medical Immunology Department of the Rutgers Cancer Institute.
The Postdoctoral Associate will work in the Principal Investigator's laboratory to conduct research on tumor immunology, with a focus on the discovery and development of T cell therapy for cancer, including tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and gene-engineered T cells. Postdoctoral Associates are expected to establish an innovative, collaborative research program addressing important and fundamental questions. Active areas of research include T cell receptor discovery, membrane-tethered cytokine technologies, tumor resistance mutations, target antigen discovery, and preclinical development of new TCR -based treatments. Interdisciplinary and translational approaches are encouraged.
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
- Conducts multidisciplinary research in the area of tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy with a focus on the discovery and development of T cell therapy for cancer, including tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and gene-engineered T cells.
- Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
- Prepares grant proposals based on the research conducted.
- Gives oral presentations of the research.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy. Understands, demonstrates, and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey core values.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers's compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest policy.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Ph.D. and/or M.D. in Biological Sciences or related areas. Qualified candidates must be in the process of completing or have finished the training for Ph.D. and/or M.D.
- Candidates must provide proof that all requirements have been fulfilled before their position start date.
- Expertise in immunological assays, molecular biology, gene transfer methods, and animal models is required.

- Exposure to blood, excrement, antineoplastic drugs, and possible exposure to infectious and communicable diseases.
- Universal precautions are mandatory. Exposure to hazardous chemicals.
