About this position
Yale School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Postgraduate Associate for a translational tumor immunology laboratory in the Department of Pathology, based on-site in New Haven, Connecticut, United States.
The laboratory, led by Dr. Kishu Ranjan and Dr. Kurt Schalper, studies cancer biology, immune evasion, therapy resistance, antigen presentation, tumor–immune interactions, and molecular pathways that regulate responses to immunotherapy. The successful candidate will contribute to cellular, molecular, and translational research examining how tumor cells alter immune recognition and how these mechanisms can be therapeutically targeted.
Research training may include spatial multiplex immunofluorescence, single-cell transcriptomics, high-throughput drug screening, CRISPR-based approaches, in vitro tumor models, and biomedical data analysis. The appointment also provides mentoring in experimental design, troubleshooting, data interpretation, literature review, scientific presentations, manuscript preparation, and career development through laboratory meetings, seminars, and journal clubs.
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in biological sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, or a related field. Experience with mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, flow cytometry, Western blotting, quantitative PCR, or cloning is preferred. Computational analysis experience is helpful but not required for motivated candidates.
This is a one-year appointment beginning November 30, 2026, with possible renewal depending on performance and funding. Compensation is $45,600 annually plus benefits under Yale University policy. Applications require a CV, one-page research statement, and contact details for three references. Apply through Interfolio by November 15, 2027, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
