About this position
The University of Hong Kong is seeking several Postdoctoral Fellows to conduct research on AI agents for Building Information Modeling (BIM) and construction. The positions are based in the Department of Urban Planning and Design within HKU's Faculty of Architecture.
The project focuses on researching and developing AI agents and AI skills that can be applied to BIM/IFC data and construction workflows. The work combines artificial intelligence, computational design, building information systems, and construction technology, with an emphasis on creating practical solutions that can support complex built-environment processes.
The research environment values rapid, effective experimentation and the ability to use modern AI coding tools to learn and solve unfamiliar problems. Fellows will be expected to assess prototypes critically, identify what works and what does not, and develop useful AI-enabled solutions. Applicants may demonstrate their capabilities through AI-built projects, prototypes, or public code repositories.
