About this position
The Zaleski Lab in the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University is seeking a postdoctoral fellow/biomaterials scientist to join its multidisciplinary research environment.
The project focuses on the design and synthesis of hybrid molecular and nanomaterial catalysts. The researcher will investigate bacterial cells, membrane biochemistry, extracellular vesicles, and interactions between cell-derived materials and nanomaterials. The work combines biomaterials research with bacterial cell growth, vesicle preparation and analysis, membrane biology, and advanced microscopy.
The successful researcher will contribute to experimental protocol development, use specialist laboratory equipment, manage an independent research project, and help develop new research directions. The role also includes training graduate and undergraduate researchers, maintaining laboratory activities, conducting systematic literature reviews, preparing journal articles and scientific reports, presenting research, and collaborating with partner institutions and research groups.
The Zaleski Lab provides regular guidance and feedback, opportunities to develop skills relevant to both academia and industry, scheduling flexibility, and a safe laboratory environment.
