About this position
The University of Hong Kong is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref. 537640). This is a full-time research appointment beginning as soon as possible and running for two years, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance.
The project sits in the areas of molecular virology and immunology, with particular attention to emerging and re-emerging viruses such as coronaviruses and influenza viruses. The appointee will contribute substantially to research on virus-host interaction, influenza viruses, and animal models, and candidates with experience in these topics are especially encouraged to apply. Work in a Biosafety Level 3 facility is an advantage.
Eligibility requirements include a Ph.D. in Biological or Biomedical Sciences (or equivalent), strong written and spoken English, good interpersonal and communication skills, high motivation, and a strong sense of responsibility and commitment. The post is suited to candidates with a background in biomedical science, biology, virology, immunology, and related fields.
Funding information indicates a highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus annual leave and medical benefits. No scholarship or tuition waiver is mentioned because this is a staff post rather than a studentship.
To apply, candidates must submit an online application through the university portal and upload an up-to-date CV. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and will be accepted until 13 January 2027 or until the position is filled, whichever comes first. Enquiries may be directed to Dr Ziwei YE at [email protected].
