About this position
The University of New South Wales is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to the Precision Survivorship research program at the Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship (ARCCS) in Sydney, Australia.
The research focuses on the biological mechanisms and biomarkers associated with cancer survivorship outcomes, with the broader aim of improving understanding of the long-term health and wellbeing of cancer survivors. The Fellow will undertake preclinical and laboratory-based research using animal models, mammalian cell culture, molecular and protein-based assays, and immunohistochemistry.
The role also involves analysing and interpreting biological, molecular and clinical data; developing laboratory protocols, standard operating procedures and research capabilities; and translating findings into meaningful outcomes for cancer survivorship. The successful researcher will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and engage with scientific, clinical and consumer stakeholders.
Reporting to Senior Research Fellow Dr Adam Walker, the Fellow will have opportunities to contribute to research publications, collaborations, funding applications and student supervision. The position combines cancer biology, molecular biology, biomarker research, immunology and biomedical data analysis within an applied cancer survivorship program.
