About this position
The Australian National University’s Research School of Earth Sciences is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to research the Serra Negra Rare Earth Element (REE) Prospect in Brazil.
Working within a leading geochemistry research team, the fellow will investigate mineralisation processes through field studies, advanced geochemical and isotopic analysis, and interpretation of geological data. The project focuses on critical mineral deposits and offers scope for research in rare earth element geology, petrology, isotope geochemistry, and analytical geochemistry.
The role is embedded in the Research School of Earth Sciences, an internationally recognised centre for experimental, analytical, and computational research into Earth processes and resources. The successful researcher will have opportunities to publish high-impact work, collaborate with national and international researchers, and contribute to student supervision in a multidisciplinary academic environment.
The fellow will be supported by the broader ANU College of Science and Medicine, which brings together researchers across Earth Sciences, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Astronomy, Medicine, and Psychology, with access to outstanding facilities and global research collaborations.
Contact Professor John Mavrogenes at ANU for further information about the position.
