About this position

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join a collaborative research team advancing transplant medicine in New York City.

The fellow will contribute to projects in organ transplantation and immune-mediated kidney diseases, working with human samples and/or mouse models of transplantation. The research environment includes heart transplant procedures performed by a microsurgeon, providing exposure to experimental transplantation approaches and multidisciplinary translational research.

A major component of the opportunity is the study of human donor kidneys undergoing ex vivo normothermic machine perfusion. This platform enables investigation of organ function, mechanisms of injury, and potential therapeutic interventions before transplantation. The work is positioned at the interface of transplant medicine, immunology, nephrology, and experimental biomedical research, with the goal of supporting discoveries that can improve patient care.

The fellow will work in a collaborative setting that encourages curiosity, independent ideas, and research with clinical relevance at Mount Sinai.
