About this position

Postdoctoral Fellow in Transplantation and Immune-Mediated Kidney Diseases

Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join a collaborative transplant medicine research team in New York City. The work will address important questions in transplantation and immune-mediated kidney diseases, with projects designed to advance translational discoveries relevant to patients.

The fellow may work with human samples and/or mouse models of organ transplantation. Research opportunities include investigating transplant biology, immune-mediated kidney injury, organ function, mechanisms of injury, and potential therapeutic interventions. Heart transplant procedures are supported by a microsurgeon.

A major component of the research environment is access to human donor kidneys undergoing ex vivo normothermic machine perfusion. This translational platform enables researchers to study organs before transplantation under conditions that support the evaluation of organ function, injury mechanisms, and therapeutic strategies.

The position offers an opportunity to contribute ideas and curiosity-driven research within a collaborative program connecting experimental models, human tissues, organ preservation technology, and clinical transplant medicine.
