About this position

College of Arts and Letters Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, 2027–2029 at the University of Notre Dame (Notre Dame, Indiana, United States).

This is a two-year postdoctoral fellowship for outstanding early-career scholars in the arts, humanities, and interdisciplinary research areas. The College of Arts and Letters will appoint eight fellows in residence across hosting units including Art, Art History, and Design; English; German, Slavic, and Eurasian Studies; Philosophy; Romance Languages and Literatures; Theology; the Initiative on Race and Resilience; and the Program in History and Philosophy of Science.

Funding includes an annual salary of $75,000 plus an additional $15,000 for research-related expenses and further training. Fellows receive office space, faculty mentoring, professional development, and networking opportunities within a university-wide cohort.

Applicants must have completed, or plan to complete, a doctoral degree between June 2024 and June 2027 (with some exceptions for qualifying leave). Scholars of all nationalities may apply. Current Notre Dame doctoral candidates, graduates, and current postdoctoral scholars at the university are not eligible.
