About this position
A postdoctoral fellowship is available at the University of Aveiro, within the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM), Department of Chemistry, under the ALGAELICIOUS project, focused on microalgae as a sustainable food ingredient. This fellowship is primarily aimed at researchers with a PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. Candidates should have proven experience in food-product biochemical characterization, particularly involving microalgae, lipid extraction, and chromatographic characterization by LC-MS and GC-MS. Experience with bioactive extract screening and biological activity assessment in cell models will be an advantage.
The fellowship is funded through Portugal 2030 / COMPETE2030-FEDER 01495500 and ALGARVE-FEDER-01495500. The monthly maintenance allowance is €1,901.00, and the grant may include reimbursement of Voluntary Social Security if applicable. The initial duration is 6 months, starting in November 2026, with the possibility of renewal for additional 6-month periods subject to available funding and regulatory limits.
