About this position

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the IRC for Sustainable Energy Systems. This opportunity is ideal for highly motivated researchers with a background in energy systems, electrical engineering, or control, who are interested in advancing research in sustainable energy technologies.

The research group, led by Assistant Professor Bilal Khan, focuses on cutting-edge topics such as control design for energy systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in energy, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, cyber-resilient control in cyber-physical power systems, electric vehicle integration for grid stability, smart grid and microgrid optimization, and sustainable energy technologies including solar PV, wind, hydrogen storage, and prosumer systems. Model Predictive Control (MPC) design for smart buildings is also a key area of interest.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, or Control, awarded in 2022 or later, preferably from a well QS-ranked institution. A strong academic background (no D/F grades), excellent publication record, and strong communication skills are required. Candidates should demonstrate expertise or strong interest in the listed research areas.
