About this position
Postdoctoral Position – Cancer Immunology & Immunometabolism
The NuReP team (Nuclear Receptors & Pathophysiology) at iGReD, part of Université Clermont Auvergne/CNRS/Inserm in Clermont-Ferrand, France, is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher for the INCa-funded MAVERIC project. The project is titled Microenvironment Metabolism-Adapted Vaccination for Enhanced Reactivation of Immunosurveillance in Advanced Prostate Cancer and sits at the interface of cancer immunology, immunometabolism, preclinical oncology, and single-cell/spatial omics.
The successful candidate will take a central role in the project and work on genetically engineered and orthotopic prostate cancer models, including CRISPR, lineage tracing, and surgery. The research also includes investigating dendritic-cell and antitumor immune responses after LXR modulation and vaccination, performing spectral cytometry and cell sorting, generating and analysing scRNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics data, and carrying out cellular and molecular experiments with tumor and immune-cell models. The role involves close collaboration with chemists developing novel LXR ligands and with the wider MAVERIC consortium, alongside contributions to publications, international conferences, and dissemination activities.
This position offers an interdisciplinary environment with access to advanced platforms in genomics, cytometry, imaging, and animal experimentation. It is designed for a scientist with strong interest in mechanistic immunology and translational oncology who wants to build expertise at the interface of metabolism, immunity, and cancer therapy. The team emphasizes scientific independence, collaboration, and research impact, with opportunities for training and professional development toward academic, translational, or biotechnology careers.
Eligibility highlights: PhD or equivalent in immunology, cancer biology, or a related field; strong cancer immunology/tumor microenvironment background; experience with cell culture, flow cytometry, and ideally spectral cytometry; animal model experience and certification (French Level 1 or equivalent); experience with scRNA-seq and/or spatial transcriptomics with computational analysis; good English; collaborative and curious mindset.
Funding and duration: INCa-funded; 36-month full-time temporary position. Start date is 1 January 2027. Application deadline: 19 November 2026.
How to apply: Send a CV, a short cover letter outlining research experience and interests, and contact details for 2–3 references to Silvère Baron, PhD, HDR, at [email protected].
Location: Clermont-Ferrand, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France.
