About this position
Postdoctoral position at INRAE in the GEvAD team (Evolutionary Genetics and Crops Adaptation), UMR Quantitative Genetics and Evolution (GQE) – Le Moulon, within IDEEV on the Paris-Saclay campus, Gif-sur-Yvette, France.
The project focuses on cellular biology, functional genomics, comparative genomics, and bioinformatics to study how editing groups of cis-regulatory elements can improve maize tolerance to water deficit. The work includes in vivo validation with protoplast transformation assays, enhancer/silencer reporter assays, deadCas9 assays, meta-analysis of networks, eQTLs, GWAS, chromatin opening/closing, comparative genomics in transformable maize lines, collaboration on CRISPR editing, and phenotyping edited lines in greenhouse conditions.
The position is part of the ANR DEREGULE project funded by Advanced Plant Breeding PEPR and ANR JCJC NETWITS (2024–2029). Duration is 24 months. Remote work is possible up to 3 days per week, but in-person team meetings are mandatory.
Eligibility highlights include a PhD, advanced molecular and cellular biology, intermediate genomics and data analysis, practical bioinformatics skills, and familiarity with Python or R, shell, and SLURM clusters. Comparative genomics and population genetics are appreciated. English B1-B2 is mentioned, and interdisciplinary teamwork is required.
To apply, send a CV, cover letter, one published article, and contact details for 3 referees to [email protected]. The post says the start is ASAP.
