About this position
DTU Sustain at the Technical University of Denmark is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a two-year, full-time position in environmental monitoring and sustainability assessment of agroforestry systems. The role is based in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark, and supports the NASCAR (Nordic Agroforestry at Scale) project.
The researcher will operate and maintain eddy covariance and environmental monitoring equipment; conduct greenhouse gas and other environmental measurements; process eddy covariance, greenhouse gas flux and meteorological data; and integrate environmental, economic and farm management information. The project will assess carbon sequestration, water and energy fluxes, agricultural productivity, greenhouse gas emissions, and the environmental and socio-economic performance of agroforestry systems in Denmark.
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in environmental science, ecology, meteorology, biogeochemistry, geography, agricultural systems or a related discipline. Experience with eddy covariance, greenhouse gas measurements or environmental monitoring, quantitative and statistical analysis, and R or Python is expected. Scientific writing and publication experience, excellent English, and preferably basic Danish are also required or desirable.
The appointment is salaried under the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations collective agreement, with possible supplements under DTU’s salary structure. The position begins on 1 January 2027, or by mutual agreement. Applications must be submitted online by 12 November 2026 at 23:59 Danish time as one English-language PDF containing a cover letter, CV, MSc/PhD diplomas, publication list, and contact details for 2–3 references.
