About this position

This postdoctoral position in hardware-based system security is offered by the Secure Systems Group (SSG) at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research environment within the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), collaborating closely with Professors Panagiotis Papadimitratos and N. Asokan. SSG focuses on designing and building trustworthy systems, addressing a wide range of security and privacy challenges from both offensive and defensive perspectives. The group is involved in several ongoing projects and maintains strong collaborations with industry and academia across Europe and Canada.

The postdoc will have the opportunity to lead independent research projects, gain experience in student supervision and mentorship, and contribute to the group's research agenda, which includes hardware-based mechanisms for protecting software systems. The position is designed to foster the development of independent academics and offers a creative, supportive, and diverse workplace. KTH is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and provides excellent employment benefits and working conditions.

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field, with a strong scientific track record in system security, particularly hardware-based security mechanisms. Demonstrated excellence through top-tier publications as lead author is required. Candidates should possess excellent English communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a high degree of motivation and independence. Additional merits include recent doctoral graduation (within three years), teaching and supervision experience, significant industry research experience, prior research in AI system security/privacy, and awareness of diversity and equality issues.

The position is full-time and fixed-term for up to two years, with a monthly salary and comprehensive employment benefits. The application deadline is December 1, 2025. Interested candidates should apply via the KTH recruitment system, submitting a cover letter, CV, statement of intent, official transcripts and diplomas (with authorized English translations), a full publication list, up to three representative scientific publications, and contact details for at least three referees. For more information about the group's activities, visit SSG Research.

This is an excellent opportunity for motivated researchers to advance their careers in a leading international technical university and contribute to the future of secure systems research.
