About this position
The Morizono Laboratory in the Division of Hematology-Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, affiliated with the UCLA AIDS Institute, is seeking a postdoctoral scholar for an NIH-funded project focused on regulated, long-term expression of anti-HIV antibodies using B-cell receptor-targeted lentiviral vectors.
The research is highly translational and combines vector engineering with functional analysis in biologically relevant systems. The successful candidate will generate and characterize pseudotyped lentiviral vectors, assess vector infectivity by flow cytometry, and perform in vitro and in vivo transductions. The project also includes work with animal models, tissue preparation for histological and flow-cytometric analysis, sample collection for downstream assays, and in vivo imaging through the Crump Institute's Preclinical Imaging Technology Center.
This opening is embedded in a major clinical and research environment at UCLA’s medical school, connecting hematology-oncology, AIDS research, and advanced preclinical imaging resources. It offers the opportunity to contribute to an NIH-funded investigation at the intersection of viral vector design, antibody expression, and experimental disease modeling.
