The Institute of Hematology and Center for Hemato-Oncology Research at the University and Hospital of Perugia, Italy, is offering a postdoctoral position in the pathogenesis of human lymphomas and leukemias, with a particular focus on Hodgkin lymphoma and hairy cell leukemia. The research group, led by Professor Enrico Tiacci, is renowned for its contributions to precision diagnostics and therapeutic tools, as evidenced by numerous publications in top journals. The group operates within a newly designed research center equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and technology platforms, adjacent to a major tertiary care academic hematological clinic that serves as a reference center for Italy and abroad.

The research environment is highly stimulating, biology- and molecular medicine-oriented, and shared with multiple principal investigators who consistently attract significant national and international grants, including from the European Research Council and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The facility provides access to advanced equipment for genomic, cellular, and molecular investigations, as well as core facilities such as deep sequencing, flow cytometry cell sorting, and hematopathology.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, contributing to projects aimed at clarifying the mechanisms underlying hematological cancers and translating these findings into clinical applications. Applicants should possess a PhD or equivalent research experience, strong theoretical and practical knowledge of molecular and cellular biology methods, and prior experience in cancer pathogenesis, preferably hematological cancers. Familiarity with (epi)genomic techniques (e.g., RNA/DNA-seq, ChIP, Cut&Run, chromosome conformation capture-seq) is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, independence, and collaborative skills, as well as proficiency in English and the ability to quickly master relevant literature, design experiments, interpret and present data, interact with team members, and write scientific reports and grant applications.

The position is a full-time post-doctoral research fellowship (minimum 40 hours/week), with a stipend that varies based on expertise and track record.
