About this position
Umeå University is offering a postdoctoral position in nursing at the Department of Nursing. The appointment is full-time for two years, with a start date by agreement, and the successful candidate is expected to work on site in Umeå and take part in the activities of the research unit.
The project focuses on support for patients after completing primary curative cancer treatment, a period in which many patients experience uncertainty about the future and may need better follow-up support. The research will evaluate a nurse-led telephone support intervention for people who have completed curative treatment for prostate, breast, or colorectal cancer. The work will examine the intervention’s effects on health, disease management, and healthcare use while patients are waiting for conventional follow-up, as well as the experiences of patients, relatives, and nurses involved in the intervention.
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to data collection through questionnaires and interviews, analysis, project administration, manuscript preparation, scientific presentations, and applications related to ethics approval, data access, and research grants. The planned studies combine qualitative and quantitative methods, and the work will be carried out in close collaboration with the wider research group.
