About this position
VinUniversity in Hanoi, Vietnam, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) to join a cutting-edge project in seizure EEG analysis, focusing on epilepsy and neuromodulation. The position is based in the College of Engineering & Computer Science and is supervised by Professor Saeid Sanei, a leading expert with affiliations to King's College London and Imperial College London. The research aims to develop intelligent systems for automatic localization of seizure networks, translating scalp to intracranial EEG data, and ranking surgical targets to predict outcomes for epilepsy patients. The project builds on over 20 years of collaborative research with UK epileptologists and leverages unique datasets from King's College London Hospital.
Key research areas include advanced and adaptive signal processing, machine learning, bioengineering, and neuroscience, with a strong emphasis on biomedical engineering applications. The successful candidate will work closely with both engineers and clinicians, collaborating with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience (IoPPN) at KCL. The objectives are to delineate seizure propagation networks, relate scalp-EEG features to intracranial markers, rank candidate resection/ablation targets, and estimate patient response probabilities to neuromodulation.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Signal Processing, Machine Learning, or Bioengineering, and demonstrate expertise in advanced signal processing techniques (such as array processing, multiway signal processing, and sparsity), machine learning, and seizure EEG analysis. Proficiency in English is required. The position offers a salary commensurate with experience and is provided as a service contract. VinUniversity is a rapidly growing institution with international collaborations and a dynamic research environment, offering opportunities to connect with leading research institutes and pioneering companies within the Vingroup ecosystem.
Interested candidates should review the full job description and apply by contacting Prof. Saeid Sanei at [email protected]. The application deadline is April 30, 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
