About this position

The University of Cambridge is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Agentic AI for Cancer Care, based jointly in the Department of Radiology and the Early Cancer Institute and listed under the Department of Oncology.

The successful researcher will join IMPACT-OC, a major European multi-centre project developing a multi-agent AI system for ovarian cancer. The project integrates medical imaging, genomics, histopathology, and clinical records, with privacy-preserving federated learning at its core. Research themes include multimodal artificial intelligence, digital twin technology, clinical oncology, radiology, human-centred design, and clinician-facing deployment.

The postdoctoral researcher will be co-supervised by Professor Ferdia Gallagher and Dr Mireia Crispin-Ortuzar and embedded across both research groups. The role offers opportunities to contribute to analytical directions, publications, conference presentations, collaborative funding applications, and translational research shaping the use of AI in clinical practice.

Applicants must have or be close to obtaining a PhD. Those awaiting formal PhD confirmation may initially be appointed as Research Assistants and progress to Research Associate after the award is confirmed. A CV, publication list, and maximum two-page covering letter are required, together with referee details. The appointment also requires a Research Passport application and UK work eligibility.
